This news is so exciting...and lets be real, who doesn't love a good wedding???!
As soon as I got the text I couldn't do anything but get a goofy grin on my face and think how wonderful life is!

Next step, I sent Miss Bunny {soon to be Mrs. Bunny} a text proclaiming my excitement for them and that if I could help with anything PLEASE let me know. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE weddings??  (You know the movie The Wedding Planner with J.Lo?  That's me in a nut shell.)

She had mentioned to me that she needed a great seamstress for an affordable price.
My eye-brows went up and I said
"ME, ME, ME!! PICK ME!!"
My Gram and I are sewing regularly together, she is teaching me her ways :)
Miss Bunny wants to use her Mom's wedding dress, cut it up and change it to something that fits to more her style.  Because I know the Groom-to-Be doesn't read my blog I have confidence that I can post these photos at the risk of him not seeing them.

Making A House, A Home

When I moved into my house a year ago, I noticed it was missing something.  It wasn't something I didn't REALLY want until Christmas came.  It was a fireplace to hang the stockings from.  None the less, we made due and hung them on the wall.

It never really sat well with me.  If there is one thing you know about me is that I am a Christmas nut and that you don't monkey with tradition.  So I had the grand idea to build my own fireplace.  And of course I wasn't going to make it a permanent fixture.  Just something pretty and functional with a hint of personality.

I got the supplies from my Mom and Gram's houses.  I picked out an awesome plum-purple to paint it and the rest is history.  20 hours of hard work out in the garage I managed to finish and couldn't have been more pleased with the end product.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

Sewing With My Grammy

I have recently taken up sewing.
I have forgotten how much I really enjoy it!

My Gram is teaching me everything
I should ever know about sewing.

It's so amazing to spend the
time with her, and learn all the
skills and steps it takes to
create something from start to end.

My Papa made this pin dish for my Grammy, I have one too!
It's this little things that makes the finish product, that much more special.

TOP 5 THINGS TO KNOW WHEN SEWING WITH GRAM

1)  Ironing is something that my Gram is very keen on.
2)  Go slow...even if you have to go so slow you might as well be going backward!
3)  Measure twice, or 40 times....cut once!
4)  Patterns have their own language and are sometimes REALLY dumb!!!
5)  The ripper is a gals best friend...you will use it a lot!

Gram is hard at work :)
